The UofL Hospital Hep C Center is an ambulatory/outpatient specialty clinic addressing the needs of people living with hepatitis C infection. Services include HCV, HBV, HIV diagnosis and treatment, Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis, Fibroscan, immunizations, STI testing, and more.

This multidisciplinary clinic is made up of 3 APRNs and a clinical pharmacist. The APRN-led clinic has precepted countless APRN students, nursing students, as well as medical residents and fellows. Preceptees will learn more about viral hepatitis, syndemics, substance use disorder, liver disease, community health, public health, and population health.

Inpatient behavior health (psych) experience.

Things that I have learned to make the psych rotation more fluid and helpful. Psych experience. Many students decide to do psych for two reasons 1) money 2) because they have friend or family that has a hx of autism or depression. Inpt psych is a whole new world and not to be taken lightly. I promise is it rewarding and a pretty cool experience. But what we don’t expect is for a new head nurse to understand the communication and behavior modifications that are necessary at times.
